Welcome to the Kawaikini English Blog for the the year! I hope you all had bright and restful summers, and you're coming back to school ready and refreshed for good things.
We will be using this blog for review and quizzes, and so that the folks at home can check in on what we're doing.
My goal for the year is that we will be able to see where everyone is at right now with English skills, and then help everyone make progress from where they are. This means that all students will be
This is how we will tackle this goal:
- We will start the year with assessments that will give us an idea of where we are.
- We will make goals for the year of English growth
- We will use a portfolio full of assignments, in-class lessons and online quizzes to practice and perfect our skills
- We will assess ourselves again at the end of the year to see our growth!
As always, we believe that people learn best when we are solving real problems and using many kinds of intelligence. At Kawaikini, we embrace the Hawaiian language and culture, and our goal is to become people of character, grounded in Kauai, who are empowered choose our own paths in the world, and follow our own adventures!
